- Our Mission
Our mission is to holistically Strengthen, Develop and Empower destitute and abused women in all areas of their lives through our Strength and Capacity Building Programme in order for them to regain their independence and rightful place in society. - Our Vision
A Society where women are united - leading confident, empowered, inclusive and happy lives in an abuse-free environment. - Our Guiding Principles
Underpinning this Strategic Plan, is a focus on and commitment to, promoting business and leadership opportunities that encourage the empowerment and participation of destitute and abused women. - Our Values
Leadership - focuses on destitute and abused women and encourages social change, promoting the role of sharing economic resources, information and power. Sister4Sisters embraces the style of leadership where power is centered on the needs of women; acknowledges and reflects the diversity of each woman's needs; allows each woman to take control of her life with the help and respect of the other women in her group and allows her to have her say in an environment where she knows she will be listened to. It also focuses on affording destitute and abused women the opportunity to learn leadership skills so they can represent the views of all women who are destitute and abused and also pass on those skills to other women.
Empowerment - involves understanding their right to be included, the right to feel safe and secure and to be given the tools for equality and participation. It is achieved mainly through women coming together to share their experiences, to gain strength from one another and to provide positive role models. It means breaking away from an identity of shameful passivity and finding the will and power to change one's own circumstances. This is not an easy process for destitute and abused women, however, it is an essential component in the struggle for full participation and equality of opportunity.
